Privacy policy

What the pages load, and who receives it

This policy matches the scripts on the pages as of 2026-11-07. The operator is the publisher of https://eglantine.pro. Contact [email protected].

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement id G-NXW759T6YL) counts page views and basic device, browser and approximate-location data. Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC receives it. The tag is served from googletagmanager.com and reports to google-analytics.com.
  • Microsoft Clarity (project z9un1l9mvl, “Eglantine Guide”) records anonymised session replays, heatmaps and click paths. Microsoft Corporation receives it through clarity.ms and Microsoft collection hosts such as c.bing.com. Form fields and other sensitive content are masked by Clarity’s default settings.
  • Adsterra (publisher 3403020, website 6182164) loads its scripts from bicea.org by default and serves the Native Banner (unit 32139615) and Social Bar (unit 32139616) ad units on this site. Adsterra and the demand partners behind a winning creative receive your IP address, user agent, the page URL and the cookie or local-storage identifiers described below. Adult ads are switched off for this site.
  • YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) is used for guide videos. The player is created only when you press play; Google then receives the request under its own privacy policy. Fonts and video thumbnails are hosted locally. The ad delivery chain can load additional demand-partner domains.

Cookies and localStorage we set

The site itself sets two localStorage entries and no first-party cookie. The table lists those entries and the cookies the four third parties set. Retention is the lifetime the provider documents; a value may be renewed when you return.

Why we process it, and the legal basis

Analytics and session recording are used to understand which guides are read and where the pages break. Advertising pays for the site. Security and fraud prevention are handled by the same providers. The legal basis is your consent for analytics, session recording and personalised advertising, and our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and funded for the aggregate, non-personalised part. You can withdraw at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.

We do not sell personal data, we do not ask for an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The site is a fan guide, not an official Nintendo or Eglantine product.

Advertising, personalisation and opt-outs

Ads load by default on the first view. If you press Reject, the Adsterra scripts are removed, Clarity stops recording, Google Analytics is disabled for 180 days, and guide video stays click-to-play. Press Cookie settings in the footer to change the choice earlier.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://www.youronlinechoices.com/, https://optout.aboutads.info/ and, for Google, https://adssettings.google.com. Adsterra’s own policy is at https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/. Opting out does not stop ads; it stops them being personalised.

Choice, signals, and your rights

With no stored choice the site writes an accepted record and still shows the banner so you can reject it. Reject writes denied for 180 days, removes the ad and recording scripts and disables the analytics tag. Accept writes an explicit granted choice. Google’s ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization start denied; analytics_storage starts granted and ads_data_redaction is enabled. Default-on ad delivery is separate from those Google signals. If the browser sends Global Privacy Control, the choice is stored as denied and the banner stays down. Do Not Track is honoured the same way when the browser exposes it as a privacy signal.

You can ask for a copy or deletion of mail you sent to [email protected], and you can ask what was collected about your visit. There is no account and no profile on this host to delete. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority. This policy changes by editing this page and moving the date.

Questions

Does eglantine.pro use cookies?

The site stores eglantine.consent and eglantineAdBarClosed in localStorage, not cookies. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra set their own cookies as listed above; YouTube may set cookies after you press play.

Do ads and analytics load before I click Accept?

Yes. They load on the first view by default, and the banner tells you so. Press Reject to turn them off; that choice is stored for 180 days and you can change it from Cookie settings in the footer.

How do I delete the choice?

Use Cookie settings, or clear site data for eglantine.pro in your browser. That removes eglantine.consent and eglantineAdBarClosed.

Links from the same publisher count as one source; a community compilation counts as one source even when it contains many reports.
