Install Eglantine on macOS

The only Mac files on the 7 Nov 2026 release are eglantine-macos-arm64.dmg (83.7 MB) and eglantine-macos-arm64.zip (75.5 MB). Release notes require macOS 15 or newer. There is no Intel build in that file list.

The app is not notarized. The handbook’s Gatekeeper path, written for Eden and still the one Eglantine ships, is: right-click, Open, then System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway. Numbered releases also print xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine eglantine.app. The daily-20261106 copy of that paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, so I quote the numbered builds, not the daily text.

The handbook says macOS still goes through MoltenVK, and that the native code execution path is not available on macOS. Asahi is called out the same way: no native code execution, plus a fastmem paging issue. The command-line binary sits inside the app at Contents/MacOS and is still named eden-cli.

Issue 370 reports Mario Kart World crashing while a graphics pipeline is created, inside MoltenVK, on an Apple M4 running macOS 26.4.1, on builds 158 and 168. I keep that as a Mac-specific crash, not as a reason to claim every Apple silicon machine fails. Keys and firmware still come from a console you own, same as the other platforms.
