System requirements
What the handbook actually requires
The basics chapter says the hardware bar is high and that you want a mid-range or better PC. The CPU needs FMA. The GPU needs OpenGL 4.6 or Vulkan 1.1. There is no official table of CPU models, GPU models, or minimum memory. An archive link in that chapter still points at Eden material. I am not turning “mid-range” into a product name.
On architectures, amd64 is the supported target and the handbook says you usually hit the CPU first because the JIT is slow. aarch64 native code execution is described for Android and experimental Linux. macOS native code execution is still described as in development. Windows on ARM is described as basically unavailable. riscv64 is only an early note.
What players reported, separately
Which Forks, across 123 reports, counted 63 NVIDIA, 37 AMD, 6 Steam Deck and 17 unlabeled. That is a mix of who showed up, not a compatibility ranking. The same notes call 16 GB of system memory a practical floor and 32 GB more comfortable. PokeDinner’s checklist is stricter: 12 GB of DRAM plus a 32 GB page file.
Build 77’s notes say 8 GB VRAM cards were crashing in Mario Kart World when VRAM ran out, and that from that build cards with under a 12 GiB budget recompress ASTC to BC3 automatically. I do not convert that into “8 GB cannot run the emulator.” It is one game, one failure mode, one build onward.

Questions
Can you give me a minimum GPU?
No. Nobody in the sources I used published an official minimum GPU model. A blank cell is more honest than a guess.
Why does my laptop fail when a desktop with the same GPU works?
The handbook points at CPU time and at memory. Laptop power limits are not given a number in these sources, so I am not inventing a wattage.

Links from the same publisher count as one source; a community compilation counts as one source even when it contains many reports.
