Eglantine on Steam Deck

The handbook’s Steam Deck chapter says: switch to desktop mode, download the AppImage, double-click it, confirm the first-run prompt, and if another Switch emulator is detected, answer whether to import settings. Then install keys, install firmware, and add a game directory. Those steps are the same keys-from-your-console rule as every other platform.

The log chapter still prints the data path as /home/deck/.local/share/Eden. Daily notes on 2026-11-06 say the folder was renamed from eden to eglantine and that a migration prompt was added. I would look for both Eden and eglantine under .local/share and trust the folder the program actually creates.

Which Forks collected six Steam Deck reports. On Mario Kart World, a 4 Nov note for build 212 PGO says the Deck APU was unplayable with heavy stutter and the race did not get going. Donkey Kong Bananza is listed at 10–15 FPS. Pokopia is listed at 40–50 FPS, dipping to 30. Splatoon Raiders is described as playable with lighting bugs. I am not averaging those into one Deck number.

PokeDinner’s setup checklist asks for 12 GB of memory plus 32 GB of page file or swap, which is a tighter memory story than the base emulator’s “16 GB is the practical floor” comment. Issue 661 says Pokopia no longer runs on Steam Deck on the latest build that reporter used. That regression is newer than the 40–50 FPS note, so both stay on the page.
