Stuck on Launching

The word Launching never leaves

This is not a crash. The process stays up and the label stays on Launching. Issue 491 calls it a Launching screen that never ends, on Pokopia, build 189. Issue 76 is Donkey Kong Bananza with CA01 inside MemoryHeapManager::SetHeapSize, including a Windows 11 plus RTX 5090 report. Build 74’s notes fix the emulator rejecting SetHeapSize requests of 8 GiB or more, while Pokopia requests 9.5 GiB. The fix follows the 12 GiB memory layout and expands the heap region to 16 GiB; it also addresses aud:u returning empty. This is an emulated-memory limit, not evidence of a physical RAM floor.

Issue 414 is Pokopia booting from base/exefs/main and reporting that no file system interface is available. The note says to boot from the update’s exefs when the base dump fails. That is a layout fix, not a graphics setting. Issue 558 is Mario Kart World hanging while a Wireless Play lobby is created. The fallback named for that regression is the experimental package ec667e25f9, which is older than build 212. I would try build 196 or 202 or newer for the heap-era games before I pinned an old experimental package, and I would only use that fallback for the lobby case the note describes.

A useful report says whether the dump is base or updates, plus the exact build. “Latest” is not a build name on a project that ships several packages a day.

Questions

Is CA01 a bad dump?

It is the code people quote with SetHeapSize. Build 74 describes the emulator incorrectly rejecting heap requests of 8 GiB or more. It is not, by itself, proof the file is corrupt.

Should I delete the shader cache?

These four issues do not say that. They talk about heap size, which exefs you boot, and one multiplayer regression.
